DERBY – 21st May 2024 – We are thrilled to announce that Node4 has been named the winner of the Cloud Project of the Year category at this year’s Electrical Review and Data Centre Review Excellence Awards for its work with West Midlands Police!
The Electrical Review & Data Centre Review Excellence Awards recognises the outstanding achievements within the electrical and data centre industries. Representatives from both Node4 and West Midlands Police attended the ceremony in London on Thursday 16th May, together with other nominated companies and individuals who are shaping the sector with their forward-thinking designs and implementations.
The winning project focused on Node4’s work in building and delivering FTK Central, the UK’s first cloud-based digital forensics analysis solution, for West Midlands Police. Using Microsoft technology, FTK Central processes data on seized devices, building links between different exhibits and enabling concurrent investigations that lead to faster convictions. Node4 hosts the digital forensics analysis application in one of its state-of-the-art data centres and manages the IT infrastructure, ensuring all gathered data is stored in compliance with policing and wider data protection standards.
Reducing the time spent on cases from months to weeks and days to hours, and ultimately keeping victims safe from further harm, it was a worthy winner of the prize.
West Midlands Police’s Digital Forensics/Incident Response Supervisor, DS John Price KPM, who attended the awards ceremony with the Node4 team, shares his thoughts about the win: “Node4’s contribution to supporting Digital Forensics in the cloud has been outstanding, and it was an honour to be at the event to celebrate with them. Throughout the project, they delivered stability and consistency. It has been a pleasure to work with Node4.”
“We had a great night at the Excellence Awards and taking home the trophy topped it off,” adds Caroline Sutor, Account Director and Team Lead at Node4. “It was wonderful that John and the team could join us so we could celebrate our successes together. It is a credit to our amazing team and everyone involved. We look forward to continuing our work in the policing sector and doing what we can to create smoother processes for police officers so they can continue to protect the public, swiftly safeguard victims, and bring successful prosecutions.”
